Bike the Borderlands

In 2017, Inland Woods + Trails joined Bike the Borderlands, a collaborative of eight mountain bike organizations located in three states and two countries. The group promotes mountain biking trail networks, stewards the natural landscape, and secures economic benefits for Northern Forest communities. The collaborative contracted with Three Peaks Media to create short films for each Borderlands location and introduced the films in April of 2021, when the first Borderlands Film Festival was held. The Inland Woods + Trails film highlights the mountain bike trails at two of their project locations: Bacon Hill and Bethel Village Trails. The organization has since added two more trail systems: Bethel Community Forest and PACT in Rumford. Local businesses, schools, mountain bike programs, and riders are featured in the film, and the community is actively engaged in trail maintenance.
