Decorative woodsy background

September 2021

Your September photos included mountain scenes and bright leaves, chicken of the woods fungi in the woods and American lady butterflies out in the fields. Michelle Wainer encountered a little-seen sight: mating common eastern bumblebees, and Tom Grett got up close with a beautiful box turtle (soon to head underground for the winter). Check out Fhar Miess’s cool photo of a northern caddisfly egg mass, deposited on a dogweed leaf that, presumably, was hanging over water.
