Decorative woodsy background

November 2022

Your November photos included split milkweed pods and wind-borne seeds, forest plants in fall color, spectacular autumn skies, and the arrival of ice and snow. In Stoddard, New Hampshire, Sue Lichty found some nibbled cranberries, in St. Albans, Vermont, Leif Tillotson took a beautiful shot of flying geese in silhouette, and in Hawley, Massachusetts, Sharon Bombard captured the bright red fall color of pitcher plants. Check out Ken Hatch’s intriguing image of the folded, compressed remains of ancient seafloor, found in a brook not far from Northern Woodlands’ office.
