Consulting forester Donn Downey will lead a walking tour of his Thetford, Vermont, property, showcasing active forest management practices, wildlife habitat features, and experimental plots exploring climate-adapted tree species. Participants will learn about Vermont’s forest history, challenges such as deer browse and beech control, and strategies to foster diverse, old-growth-like conditions. This is a unique opportunity to see practical forestry techniques in action and gain insights into the future of our local woodlands.
