Five years ago at this time, when we were putting together the first issue of Vermont Woodlands, we imagined a publication that had both accurate information about forest plants and animals and interesting stories about the people who use Vermont’s forest- often for very different purposes. Right from the start, we had a hunch that almost all of the people who disagree about how the forest should be treated have a love for it that has the potential of transcending their squabbles. This has been our inspiration and our challenge.
