These photos were taken hours before a nest of yellow-bellied sapsuckers fledged. They were recorded 40 feet up in the canopy with a Canon full frame camera strapped to the top of a tree, using a Tamron 70-200 f/2.8 lens at 200mm. A timer triggered the camera, aimed at the cavity hole in a nearby tree, to take photos every two seconds during daylight hours. Here, the father bird delivers a type of crane fly and some sort of larva. In the third photo, a chick demands more food.
