While on a late-spring hike, photographer Frank Kaczmarek came across a bald-faced hornet nest that had dislodged from a tree. He took out his camera and captured these new adults emerging from their cells, and naturally, soon felt a sharp pain in his left arm as the hornets began to defend their nest.
