“The Place You Call Home” is a series of “owner’s manuals” for people who own land in the greater Northern Forest region of New England and New York. Each manual includes how-to articles, discussion of land management options such as improving wildlife habitat or donating a conservation easement, tips for tracking wildlife, and contact information for government agencies, consulting foresters, and conservation organizations.
To date, the Northern Woodlands staff has created three “Place You Call Home” guides - the first for the Upper Connecticut Valley region of New Hampshire and Vermont, the second for the Catskill Watershed region of New York, and a third for all of Vermont. One more edition of the guide is presently in the works. To purchase copies, visit our online store, or you may download complete PDF versions by clicking on the cover images or links at the top of the page.
