Frequently Asked Questions - Free Digital Subscriptions for Students

Why are you offering Northern Woodlands digital subscriptions free to teachers and students?

It’s part of our educational mission. In your classroom, you have tomorrow’s landowners, wildlife biologists, forest industry professionals, nature photographers, journalists, and policy makers. We want to encourage more people – especially younger generations – to care about local nature, and take an active role in protecting its future.

Where can I view a sample digital edition?

Follow this link to view a sample edition of the digital magazine that will arrive in your student's inboxes once enrolled.

When will my students and I receive the magazine?

We e-mail the magazine on these dates (because our nonprofit pays a service fee every time we send out the digital magazine, we have to stick to this schedule).
Autumn Edition: September 1 and October 21
Winter Edition: December 1
Spring Edition: March 1
Summer Edition: June 1

How long will subscriptions last?

All educational subscriptions are for three years (12 total issues).

What do you do with email information? Do you share lists?

We don’t share email lists or individual addresses with other organizations. You will, however, receive occasional messages from our nonprofit.

How do I sign myself and my students up?

Create an excel document that lists your students' emails as well as your own and submit it here. If you have difficulty with this or have any other questions, please call 802-439-6292 or email Emily.
