In our story on walkingsticks in the Summer 2008 issue (”Plant-Eating Apparitions”), we incorrectly used the word “biannual” when we should have used “biennial.” As writer John Anderson made clear elsewhere in the story, he observed outbreaks of these leaf-eating insects every two years, not twice a year. We apologize for the slip and for any confusion.
